What Is Hospice?

Lake Forest Hospice provides a distinct healthcare option designed to provide comfort, care, and dignity to the terminally ill instead of curative measures. It is a home-centered philosophy that affirms life by making a person’s final days more meaningful.

Lake Forest Hospice neither hastens nor promotes passing but eases the transition, reassuring both the hospice patient and their loved ones. We focus on comfort and symptom management, leading to a dignified transition.

Who Is Hospice Care For?

Hospice care is designed for those who have life-limiting conditions with a prognosis of six months or less, and curative treatments are no longer effective.

Revolving door visits to doctors, hospitals, and emergency rooms can be very exhausting and rob us of quality life. If treatments are ineffective, hospice care is the option.

Cost of Hospice Care

Hospice care is a benefit of Medicare, Medi-CAL, and some healthcare insurance providers. Most medical, incontinent care, and other supplies related to the terminal diagnosis are included.

Moreover, the hospice patient will be visited by Lake Forest Hospice nurses, chaplain, spiritual/bereavement counselor, bath aides (CHHA), social worker, and other professional clinical staff. All these are insurance-covered benefits.
